The Department of Chemistry at PTM Government College, Perinthalmanna, was established in 2018 with a mission to provide high-quality undergraduate education in chemistry. The BSc Chemistry program is structured with chemistry as the core subject and mathematics and physics as complementary subjects, ensuring a well-rounded scientific foundation for students. Since its inception, the department has maintained an outstanding record in both academic and extracurricular pursuits.
Each year, the department admits 32 students who demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing chemistry. The faculty comprises three experienced and dedicated professors committed to imparting in-depth knowledge and practical skills necessary for students’ academic and professional success. A fully equipped laboratory, featuring essential glassware and modern instruments, supports hands-on learning and research activities.
Through its commitment to excellence, the Department of Chemistry strives to provide a comprehensive and challenging educational experience. The department remains devoted to nurturing students’ talents, fostering scientific curiosity, and continuing its tradition of success in the years ahead.
