The CDC was originally created by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the 1980s as a way to facilitate communication between various agencies involved in higher education. In recent years, the CDC has become increasingly important in the Indian higher education system as a means of promoting inclusive, high-quality education through the implementation of innovative schemes and best practices.
