PTM Government College has striven for many years to enhance and offer the best model of education with its inclusive and sustainable approach. Ensuring quality in its activities, PTM Government College aspires to work towards the promotion of education, the growth of the economy, and the welfare of society. The university offers a platform for the development of methodological skills, transdisciplinary frameworks, and ethical and human values, and students are consistently motivated by it. The institution is dedicated to providing education and enlightenment to the underprivileged and marginalized students, particularly women, with the best possible educational possibilities. If we go through the admitted lists of the last three years, for instance, we can see that majority of the students are girl students and most of them are from families with economical backwardness.

The institution gives a special focus on Women’s Empowerment. The college offers a Counselling Center and Women Empowerment Cell to provide emotional and psychological support to the student, especially girls. The major goal of these forums is to raise awareness among students of the importance of higher education and to provide emotional support to help them achieve their goals. Under the Women Empowerment Cell, numerous seminars and workshops for girl students have been conducted. They are educated about their rights, as well as provided with instructions regarding how to ensure the safety of women and their families. Counselling, as well as stress management and self-defence lessons, are provided to the students. Individual counselling is also provided. We have a special counselling cell called JEEVANI that is dedicated to this purpose. In the last five years, as a result of these initiatives, pupils’ grades have improved significantly. The college plans to continue focusing on more participatory programmes that benefit the student community while adhering to the “Beti Bachao Beti Padao principle”. Entrepreneurship Development club promotes girls students to various self-employment opportunities. A large number of girl students are earning money by doing different offline and online jobs like Bridal makeovers, Calligraphy, Save the date arts, Artistic ventures, Cake baking and Bridal ornaments for rent etc. Women cell conducted 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler Driving classes and Self-defense training. Our girl students have won laurels in university exams, K-Tet (Teacher training qualification exam conducted by the Govt. of Kerala), and NET examinations.
