Electoral Literacy Club in PTM Govt. College is a platform to engage all UG and PG students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitize them on their electoral rights and familiarize them with the electoral process of registration and voting, aiming at strengthening the culture of electoral participation among young and future voters, in an apolitical, neutral and non-partisan manner. The club will have all of the students from all semesters as its members.
VISION: To make its utmost contribution to have an active democratic citizenry originating in integrated civic and voter education and electoral participation right from a young age.
OBJECTIVES:
- To educate the targeted populations about voter registration, electoral process and related matters through hands on experience.
- To help them linking Aadhar with Election Identity Card
- To familiarize the targeted populations with EVM and VVPAT and to educate them about robustness of EVM and integrity of the electoral process using EVMs
- To help the target audience understand the value of their vote to ensure that they exercise their suffrage right in a confident, comfortable and ethical manner
- To harness the potential of ELC members for carrying the electoral literacy in communities
- To facilitate voter registration for its eligible members who are not yet registered
- To develop a culture of electoral participation and maximize the informed, and ethical voting, and follow the principle ‘Every vote counts’ and ‘No Voter to be Left Behind’.

ELC conducted an Election awareness class and Election ID – Aadhar linking Process at College Auditorium on 12/10/2022 at 2 PM. Co – ordinator Dr. Abdul Razak P welcomed the gathering. Honorable Thahasildar of Perinthalmanna, Smt. Maya presided over the function. College Principal Dr. Hamza K inaugurated the function. Deputy Thahasildar sr. C Abdul Rasheed and College IQAC Co – ordinator Dr. Mohammed Noorul Ameen V felicitated the function. Mr. Shailesh of Taluk office led the Election awareness Class and Aadhar – ID linking process. Dr. Yahyakhan UP delivered vote of thanks and the meeting ended at 4. 30 pm.
